Fixed Assets Calculate Depreciation
Use this batch project to automatically calculate the depreciation for several fixed assets.
When the depreciation is calculated, the depreciation journal lines go to the appropriate fixed asset journal batch based on the owner entity of the fixed asset. For example, when the depreciation is run for entities ADM and PROD fixed assets, the journal lines are created separately:
- Fixed assets that have the ADM owner entity, go to the batch for entity ADM.
- Fixed assets that have the PROD owner entity, go the batch for the entity PROD.
For more information, see the Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central documentation.
Calculate Depreciation
When following the steps for calculating depreciation, you can choose to perform the calculation automatically or manually:
- To calculate depreciation automatically
- To post depreciation manually from the fixed asset G/L journal
After the lines are created in the Fixed Asset G/L Journals, use the Post with Multiple Entities action to post the journals for several entities. Choosing the standard Post action, only allows one entity batch to be posted at a time.
