SBS ARED Billing Batch Hold Process

Use this page to apply a hold to several deferral schedules.

Place Schedules on Hold

To apply a hold on several deferral schedules, follow these steps: 

  1. If needed, turn on Transfer Balance to On Hold Account.
  2. If you turned on the option to transfer the balances, you can check the Account Details options.
    1. As needed, change the General Journal template and batch name.
    2. Specify the Posting Date.
    3. Specify the on hold accounts for the balance transfer,
  3. Select the deferral schedules that you want to put on hold.
  4. Select Actions > Process > Set On Hold.
  5. The statuses of the deferral schedules that were put on hold are updated to On Hold.

If the Transfer Balance to On Hold Account option is turned on, journal entries for transferring the balances to the on hold accounts are created.

Fields

The following field boxes are available: 

Field Description
Transfer Balance to On Hold Account

Select whether the remaining balances for the deferral schedules are transferred to on hold accounts after the hold is applied.

  • On: Transfers the remaining deferral schedule balances to the specified on hold accounts.
  • Off: Applies the on hold status to the deferral schedules without transferring the deferral schedule balances.

After you select the action, the

Account Details
If the Transfer Balance to On Hold Account option is turned on, specify the account details for posting the deferral schedule balances to the on hold accounts.
General Journal Template Specify the template for the journal entry. The default is from the setup.
General Journal Batch Specify the batch name for posting the journal entry. The default is from the setup.
Posting Date Specify the posting date for the deferral schedule balance transfers. The current date is the default value.
On Hold Accounts Select the on hold accounts for the deferral schedule balances: revenue, discount, and COGS.
Lines

Displays all deferral schedules that can be put on hold. Information in the list include the following: 

  • Deferral schedule number
  • Deferral, discount, and COGS amounts
  • Deferral, discount, and COGS accounts
  • Short term revenue/expense, short term deferral discount, and short term deferral COGS accounts
  • Customer number and name

Actions

The following actions are available: 

Actions Description
Process > Set On Hold

Applies a hold to all selected deferral schedules. Also, if the Transfer Balance to On Hold Account option is turned on, journal entries for transferring the balances to the on hold accounts are created.
