Bank Deposits
Use this page to make group several payments into a single deposit transaction. For more information, see the Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central documentation.
Create Bank Deposit Transactions
Centralized and decentralized processing can be used with deposit transactions. The option to use centralized or decentralized processing is on the Sales & Receivables or Purchase & Payables FastTab of the Multi-Entity Management Setup.
Centralized Processing
To create a deposit transaction that uses centralized processing, follow the steps within the Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central documentation, and incorporate these steps:
- In the header, select the Entity Code and the Bank Account No.
- For each deposit line you add, select the Entity Code, edit other values as needed, and specify the Credit Amount.
- For the line, select Functions > Apply Entries, and on the Apply Entries page, select and apply the documents that are created.
- Post the documents.
When the transaction is processed, the transaction is created for the entity of the selected Bank Account No. If the entity in the header is different from the entity of the bank account, intercompany distributions using the Due To and Due From accounts are created.
Decentralized Processing
To create a deposit transaction that uses decentralized processing, follow the steps within the Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central documentation, and incorporate these steps:
- In the header, select the Entity Code and the Bank Account No.
- For each deposit line added:
- Select the Entity Code.
If Account Type is Vendor or Customer, the entity of the line must be the same entity as the Bank Account No.
If the Account Type is G/L Account, any entity to which have access can be selected. - Edit other values as needed, and specify the Credit Amount.
- Select the Entity Code.
- For the line, select Functions > Apply Entries, and on the Apply Customer Entries page, select and apply the documents that are created.
- Post the documents.
Due From and Due To entries are created as needed based on the header, line, and bank entities. No Due From and Due to entries are created when the Account Type is G/L Account.
