Financial Dimensions
Financial dimensions are a standard feature in Microsoft Dynamics 365 for Finance and Operations. When using financial dimensions in Property Lease Management, you must have the following standard Microsoft Dynamics 365 for Finance and Operations setups completed to ensure that all transactions are processed correctly to the appropriate accounts. Also, these setups ensure that any data when imported, is imported without issue.
For more information on using financial dimensions, see the Microsoft Dynamics 365 for Finance and Operations documentation:
Customer Records and Product Details
When creating customer and products ensure to complete the financial dimensions FastTabs with the default financial dimensions that you want to use.
- To edit the financial dimensions of a customer, review the All customers page (Modules > Accounts receivable > Customers > All customers).
- To edit the financial dimensions of a product, review the Released product details page (Modules > Product information management > Products > Released products).
When both the customer record and product details have the values for the same financial dimensions, the customer financial dimensions have precedence over the financial dimensions of the product.
For more information on customers and released products, see the Microsoft Dynamics 365 for Finance and Operations documentation.

In Property Lease Management
In Property Lease Management, the order of precedence of financial dimensions is as follows:
- Properties: Financial dimension values set up on the property record are used for the accounts.
- Customer/Vendor record: If the property record does not have a financial dimension value, the financial dimension is from the customer or vendor record.
- Charges record: If the customer or vendor record does not have a financial dimension value, the financial dimension is from the charge record.
For example, the financial dimension values are set up as follows:
Property | Customer/Vendor | Charge
Business unit | Business unit | 001 | Business unit | 002
Cost center | 007 | Cost center | 010 | Cost center
Department | 022 | Department | Department
Item group | Item group | Item group | Services
Project | 000002 | Project | Project |
The resulting accounts use the following financial dimension values on the Lease Details.

Business unit | 001 | From the customer/vendor record |
Cost center | 007 | From the property record |
Department | 022 | From the property record |
