Use this page to set up and edit billing classes. Billing classes provide flexibility when creating sales orders and invoices for leases which use different billing cycles.
Calculate Projected Invoice Date
The following example demonstrates how the projected invoice date is calculated based on the different calculation options selected. A lease has the following billing periods:
Billing period | Start date | End date |
Period 1 | February 05, 2021 | May 31, 2021 |
Period 2 | June 01, 2021 | August 31, 2021 |
Period 3 | September 01, 2021 | November 30, 2021 |
If the calculated projected invoice date is not a valid date, the projected invoice date is the last day of the calculated month.
From Billing Start Date
When you set Calculate from as the Billing start date–in other words, when you use the billing start date to calculate the projected invoice date–the projected invoice dates for Period 1 with no other values specified are listed in the table below. For descriptions of each calculation method, see the Fields section.
Calculation method | Projected invoice date |
None | February 05, 2021 |
Beginning of month | February 01, 2021 |
End of month | February 28, 2021 |
Beginning of period | February 05, 2021 |
Date | February 05, 2021 |
Continuing with calculating from Billing start date, the projected invoice dates for Period 1 with different values specified is as follows:
Calculation method | Prior months | Prior days | After months | After days | Days | Projected invoice date |
None | February 05, 2021 | |||||
Beginning of month | 1 | 1 | January 02, 2021
End of month | 1 | February 27, 2021
Beginning of period | 1 | 3 | March 08, 2021
Date | 1 | 15 | March 15, 2021 |
From Billing End Date
When you set Calculate from as the Billing end date–in other words, when you use the billing end date to calculate the projected invoice date–the projected invoice dates for Period 1 with no other values specified are listed in the table below.
Calculation method | Projected invoice date |
None | May 31, 2021 |
Beginning of month | May 01, 2021 |
End of month | May 31, 2021 |
End of period | May 31, 2021 |
Date | May 31, 2021 |
Continuing with calculating from Billing end date, the projected invoice dates for Period 1 with various values specified is as follows:
Calculation method | Prior months | Prior days | After months | After days | Days | Projected invoice date |
None | May 31, 2021 | |||||
Beginning of month | 1 | 1 | April 02, 2021
End of month | 1 | May 30, 2021
End of period | 1 | 3 | April 28, 2021
Date | 1 | 15 | June 15, 2021 |
