SBS ARCB Serialized Items Setup
Use this page to associate physical inventory items with service items. In situations where equipment is rented or leased as part of a service offering, the items can be set up together. When associating inventory items with service items, a service item can be linked to one or more inventory items. However, an inventory item can be linked to only one service item.
Review the following example to better understand how to use this setup. A telephone company offers two telephone services, with each service requiring specific equipment to use the services:
Service Item | Required Inventory Item |
Telephone 1 |
|
Telephone 2 |
|
When setting up this page, the list appears as follows:
No. | Service Item No. | Service Item Description |
PhoneUnit1 | Telephone 1 | Telephone service level 1 |
PhoneUnit2 | Telephone 2 | Telephone service level 2 |
Converter2 | Telephone 2 | Telephone service level 2 |
All inventory and service items must already be set up on the Item Card page before they can be selected on this page.
Set Up Serialized Items
Links between the inventory items and associated service items can be added manually or by importing an XML formatted file.
To manually link an inventory item with a service item, do the following:
- For each line in the list, select a item No. and a Service Item No.
- To add more inventory items for the service item, select different item No. and select the same Service Item No.
To save time, you can import the serial items setup by using Actions > Serial Items Import. For the import file format and examples, see Serialized Item Setup (XML only).
