HMM Portal User Setup

Use this page to view HMM portal users, add new portal users, assign access to HMM modules to your portal users, and assign location access as well, either giving or restricting access.

For example, if you want a portal user to be able to create issue transactions for Location A, then you must give them access to the Issuing module and to Location A in the HMM Portal User Location Access page.

Set Up New Users

Before you can set up portal users, make sure that you have user profiles already set up in Business Central. For information about setting up user profiles in Business Central, see HMM Licensed Users Setup.

When you have available users and know which ones you want to use, you can use the HMM Portal User Setup page. To add new portal users and provide them with necessary access to locations and modules, do the following:

  1. In Business Central, search for and open the HMM Portal User Setup page.
  2. On the Action tab, select New.
  3. For HMM Portal User, enter the name of the user.
  4. The HMM Portal User Email ID will fill in automatically with the email associated with the user.
  5. Then, assign the user access to the HMM modules.
    1. To give access, turn on the module.
    2. To restrict access, leave the module turned off.
    3. For example, if you want the user to work with supply requisitions but not user item references then turn on Supply Requisitions and turn off Item References.
  6. After assigning access to the modules, you can then assign location access for the user. On the Action tab, select Assign Location Rights.
    1. To give a user access to a location, select the Access checkbox for that location.
    2. To restrict a user from accessing a location or working with it, clear the Access checkbox for that location.
    3. Tip: You can select Mark All or Unmark All to quickly assign access for all locations.

After you have set up user profiles in Business Central, you can assign profile settings for each portal user. For more information see Portal User Profile.
