Configuration Packages

Configuration packages are a standard Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central feature. For information on configuration packages, see Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central documentation.

Tables for Multi-Entity Management

When importing and exporting data between companies, you create configuration packages for the tables that you want. The following table provides a list of the tables used in Multi-Entity Management.

To be able to import data for the following Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central tables, the entity ID is required.

Entity Validation Table
Field Description
Disable Empty Entity Validation on Config. Packages

When importing data using configuration packages, a check can be performed to ensure that the data imported has an entity value.

  • On: When the entity value is missing from data in the configuration package, the import continues. The data imported will not have entity values.
  • Off: When the entity value is missing from data in the configuration package, the import fails. The data in the configuration package must be edited so that it has entity values.

When data is imported without entity values, you can assign entity values to the data using the MEM Assign Entity page.

Note icon. Note: Aside from missing entity values, the data import can fail for other reasons. This validation only addresses the situation of missing entity values.
