Project Journals
Use this page to post time sheet entries for a project. For more information, see the Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central documentation.
Fields
The following field boxes are available:
Field | Description |
Header | |
Entity Code |
Select an entity for the project journal. The default value is your default entity that you selected in My Settings. If you did not set up the default entity, the default entity is first entity in the list that you have access. |
Lines | |
Entity Code |
Select an entity for the project journal line. The default value is from the header. If this value is different from the entity code of the header, the intercompany functionality is used when the transaction is posted. The Due to and Due from accounts as set up on the MEM Intercompany Setup page are used for the transaction distributions. When a project journal is created from a project planning line, the entity is from the project task and cannot be changed. |
Global Dimension Code | Select the global dimension code for the line. |
No. |
Select the item number or resource for the line. The selection depends on the Type value selected.
|
Location Code |
Select the location code for the line. When Location Security is turned on (on the Multi-Entity Management Setup page), you can select only from the location codes that belong to entities to which you have access as follows: If the location does not have an owner entity, an option appears so that you can assign an owner entity. Only locations that have an owner entity can be selected. |
Project No. |
Select a project number. When Projects Security is turned on (on the Multi-Entity Management Setup page), you can select only from the projects numbers that belong to entities to which you have access. For General Ledger entries that use COGS, when the ledger entry for an inventory is created, the owner entity of the location is replaced by the entity of the line for the transaction. |
Actions
The following actions are available:
Action | Description |
Actions > Functions > Calculate Remaining Usage |
Calculates the remaining usage of lines and creates journal lines based on the project planning lines for the project task. When Multi-Entity Management is used, the lines that belong to entities to which you have access are calculated as follows:
After the lines are calculated, a confirmation message indicating the number of lines processed appears. When Multi-Entity Management is used, the actual number of lines processed might be fewer than indicated in the message because some lines are not processed based on the Multi-Entity Management security settings. |
Actions > Functions > Suggest Line from Time Sheets |
Suggests lines from time sheet and prepares them for lines for the project journal. Time sheets that are used for this action must already be submitted and approved. When Multi-Entity Management is used, the lines that belong to entities to which you have access are suggested as follows:
Any combination of turning on or off the security affects which lines are included in the line suggestions. |
Home > Process with Multiple Entities |
Opens the MEM Mass Batch Processing page, where you can do the following types of actions:
Note: The Process with Multiple Entities action has replaced the Post with Multiple Entities action as of MEM version 1.1.92.0. Use the Process with Multiple Entities action to open Mass Batch Processing where you can post and print batches. |
