Button Description
Actions > Functions > Calculate Remaining Usage

Calculates the remaining usage of lines and creates journal lines.

When Multi-Entity Management is used, the lines that belong to entities to which you have access are calculated as follows:

  •  On the Multi-Entity Management Setup page, the following options are turned on:
    • Projects Security: Only lines that have projects that belong to entities to which the you have access are calculated.
    • Item Security: Only lines that have items that belong to entities to which the you have access are calculated.
    • Resource Security: Only lines that have resources that belong to entities to which the you have access are calculated.
    • Location Security: Only lines that have location codes that belong to entities to which the you have access are calculated.
Any combination of turning on or off the security affects which lines are calculated.
  • Lines that do not have a location code are calculated and the journal lines created.
  • If the location exists, but it does not have an owner entity, the line is not calculated nor is the journal line created.

After the lines are calculated, a confirmation message indicating the number of lines processed appears. When Multi-Entity Management is used, the actual number of lines processed might be fewer than indicated in the message because some lines are not processed based on the Multi-Entity Management security settings.

Home > Process with Multiple Entities

  • Post and print batches of journal lines.
  • Delete batches of journal lines of specific entities.
