MEM Entity No. Series List

Use the MEM Entity No. Series List page to assign journal and posting number series for specific entities. This allows different entities to maintain separate journal numbering sequences while sharing the same journal template or journal batch.

When No. Series Security is enabled, you can access this page from supported journal templates and journal batches to configure entity-specific numbering.

You can use this page to configure entity-specific number series for the following journal batch types:

  • General Journal Batch

  • Item Journal Batch

  • FA Journal Batch

  • Project Journal Batch

  • Resource Journal Batch

  • Sustainability Journal Batch

Users can specify the No. Series and Posting No. Series of the journal batch after posting.

When To Use This Page

Use this page when:

  • Different entities require separate journal number series.

  • Different entities require separate posting number series.

  • You want journal batches to assign journal numbers automatically based on the selected entity.

How Journal Number Series Assignment Works

Journal number series assignment uses the following process:

  1. Enable No. Series Security.

  2. Open a supported journal template or journal batch.

  3. Open MEM Entity No. Series.

  4. Assign a number series and, if applicable, a posting number series for each entity.

  5. Create journal entries.

  6. MEM assigns journal numbers using the number series configured for the selected entity.

Note: Journal templates provide default number series assignments. Journal batches can inherit these values. However, the journal batch configuration will be the configuration that MEM uses when assigning journal numbers.

Example

Entity 0 is assigned the FA number series and Entity 100 is assigned the BLK number series.

When journal entries are created for Entity 0, MEM assigns numbers from the FA series. When journal entries are created for Entity 100, MEM assigns numbers from the BLK series.

Fields

This page contains the following fields: 

Field Description
Entity Specifies the entity associated with the number series assignment.
No. Series Specifies the journal number series used for the selected entity. MEM uses this number series when assigning journal numbers.
Posting No. Series

Specifies the number series assigned to posted journal entries for the selected entity.
Journal Template Type

Specifies the journal type associated with the selected journal template or journal batch. This value is assigned automatically and is not displayed on the page. Options:

  • General Journal

  • Item

  • Fixed Asset

  • Project

  • Resource

  • Sustainability
Journal Template Name Specifies the journal template associated with the record. This value is assigned automatically and is not displayed on the page.
Journal Batch Name Specifies the journal batch associated with the record. This value is assigned automatically and is not displayed on the page.
