Assign Number Series Workflow

To automatically assign a number series to transactions based on an entity value, follow this general workflow. Currently, the number series-entity feature is available only for sales and purchase transactions.

1. Set up the number series.

Number series is a standard feature in Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central. For more information, see the article Create Number Series.

2. On the Multi-Entity Management Setup page, on the Security FastTab, ensure that No. Series Security is selected.
3. On the MEM Entity Setup page, for the sales or purchase Number Series, select the number series for the transactions.

When you create a sales or purchase transaction, you must select an entity before the transaction can be created.
