IC Suite Master Data Dataset

Use this page to specify which master record will be replicated, with which fields and for which partners.

Create a Dataset

To create a new dataset, do the following:

  1. Open IC Suite Master Data Dataset.

  2. Select New to create a new dataset.

  3. Enter a name for the dataset.

  4. In Originating Company, select the company you want to send data from.

  5. In Table ID, select the type of record you want to synchronize.

    1. Vendor
    2. Customer

    3. Item

    4. Salesperson/Purchaser

    5. G/L Accounts

    6. Dimensions and Dimension Values

  6. Select Field Options to select the fields from the record of the dataset.

  7. Select Partners > Add Partners to add the partners as the destination companies.

  8. Under Table Fields, specify the fields you want to include in the synchronization process.

General

The following field boxes are available: 

Field Description
Name Specify the Data Set name.
Description Specify a description for the Data Set.
Originating Company Specify the source company whose data will be sent to other partners.
Table ID Specify the Data Set record type as either Customer, Item, Vendor, or Salesperson/Purchaser.
Table Name Displays name of the Data Set record type.
Status Specify whether the Data Set is Under Development, On Hold, or Released.
Last Date Synchronized Displays the last time that data set synchronization was executed.
Delete Records Specify whether on synchronization, records should be deleted in the destination companies if they are not present in the originating companies.
Auto Synchronization

Specify whether this dataset will be automatically synchronized to the selected partners, whenever there is a change.

Example:

  • A user has defined Dataset A for Vendor master data with Auto Synchronization enabled.
  • Dataset A has "Name" field added for synchronization, and has Partner 01 and Partner 02 linked to it.
  • Partner 01 has Auto Synchronization marked, but for Partner 02 it is not marked.
  • When the user goes to the Vendor card, makes a change to the "Name" field and when closes the Vendor card: Auto Synchronization will run using Dataset A for Partner 01 and it will synchronize the "Name" field change.

Table Filter

Opens the Filter page where you can select specific records from the dataset to replicate.

Table Fields

This page contains the following columns: 

Field Description
Field ID Specifies the Field ID that is part of the synchronization process. The ID comes from the ID property of the table.
Field Name Specifies the Field Name. After you select a Field ID from the list of fields, the Field Name is automatically filled in.
Field Type Specifies the Field type. After you select a Field ID from the list of fields, the Field Type is automatically filled in.
Validate Field Specify whether the information in a field is to be validated during synchronization.
Comment Specify any comment related to the field.

Actions

The following actions are available: 

Action Description
Field Options > Insert all fields from the table Inserts all the fields from the selected table.
Field Options > Choose fields from the table Opens a window to mark which fields to include from the selected table.
Partners > Add Partners Opens Datasets Partners page to add partners which this dataset will be synced to.
Synchronization > Full

Every dataset master record present in the dataset company will be synchronized with partners.

Only fields added in the dataset will be synchronized.

All the fields are supported for synchronization except for fields which are obsolete, non-editable, and their field class is not normal.

Can only be performed when dataset status is "Released".

Synchronization Log Entries > Synchronization Log Entries Opens IC Suite Master Data Sync. Log Entries page to display log entries of the synchronize process for this dataset.
Job Queue > Full Synchronize

Create a Job Queue Entry for running synchronization of all dataset records in the background of Business Central.

Job Queue > Show Job Queue Entries Display the list of Job Queue Entries for the dataset.
