Mass Meter Reading Entry
Modules > Property lease management > Periodic tasks > Mass meter reading entry
Use this page to specify the current reading or consumption values for meter reading lines for lease records that have active meter charges.
You can import the meter reading data using the standard Microsoft Dynamics 365 for Finance and Operations import feature. For import file format information, see Import Meter Readings.
Enter Meter Reading Data
To enter meter reading or consumption data for several lines, follow these steps:
- Select the Lease type.
- Specify the To date, which is the cut-off date, for the records you want to process.
- To further restrict the records that appear in the line list, choose Select to add other criteria to filter the records.
- Select any records that you do not want to process, and select Remove.
If multiple lines for a meter appear in the list and you remove a line that has subsequent lines, the selected line and all subsequent lines are removed. Any preceding lines for the meter remain in the list for processing. - For each line, specify the Current reading or Consumption amount.
The Meter reading type of the meter determines which value you can edit. - If needed, specify the Meter rate.
- Select OK.
These processed lines are available for processing on the Billing Lines page. If needed, review the lines on the Meter Readings page and notice the following:
- All lines processed from this page have the Processed check box is selected.
- The meter rate is updated with the rate of the last processed line.
Fields
This page contains the following fields:
Field | Description |
Filter fields | |
Lease type |
Select the lease type for which you want to process: Revenue or Expense. Required. |
To date |
Specify the last date for which to include records for processing. All unprocessed records that have a billing period start date up to the date specified appear in the list. The default date is the current date. |
Lines | |
Displays all unprocessed meter reading lines that have a billing period start date before the To date specified and that satisfy the filter criteria specified. If a line has a consumption value of zero (0) a warning icon appears on the line. Lines that have already been processed do not appear in this list. The lines show the details of the lines that are available to be processed. Only the following values can be edited: |
|
Current reading |
When the Meter reading type is By reading, specify the meter reading value for the period. This value must be equal to or greater than the previous current reading amount. |
Consumption | When the Meter reading type is By consumption, specify the consumption amount for the period. |
Meter rate |
Displays the charge rate of the previous billing period for the meter. This value must be a positive, non-zero value, and can be changed as needed. If you change this value for a line, all subsequent meter reading lines that use the same meter are updated. Tip: As a best practice, edit the meter rate for preceding lines before editing subsequent lines. For example, five lines for Meter1 appear. You edit the meter rate for Line 3 to be 10. The meter rate for Lines 3, 4, and 5 is updated to 10. |
