License Types
In Subscription Billing, the following license types can be added:
- Full License (Essentials or Premium)
- Team Member
- Delegated Administrator
In Subscription Billing, a Full License corresponds to either a Business Central Essentials or Premium license. Team Member, and Delegated Administrator licenses provide limited functionality based on the needs of that user's role. Additional information about each license type in Subscription Billing is provided below.
Essentials License
An Essentials license provides core ERP functionalities suitable for small to medium-sized businesses. It includes features for financial management, sales, purchasing, inventory, and basic project management. It is ideal for businesses that do not require advanced manufacturing or service management capabilities.
Premium License
A Premium license includes all the features of the Essentials license plus advanced capabilities for manufacturing and service management. It is designed for businesses that need to manage production processes, service contracts, or field service operations.
Team Member License
A Team Member license in Subscription Billing mirrors the Business Central Team Member license and is intended for light users who primarily view data and perform limited tasks.
When purchasing a Team Member license, it is important to note that a Full License user is required; Team Member access is based on the plan level purchased by the Full License user. As a result, the Team Member license must have the same plan and billing frequency as the full licensed user.

Delegated Administrator License
A Delegated Administrator License is typically for Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central reselling partners to provide support for their customers. These licenses are free and do not have limits on the number of licenses available for a user's tenant. For Subscription Billing, the delegated administrator has the same permission and functionality as the delegated administrator would have in Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central. External Account License
An External Accountant License allows external accounting professionals to access financial data at no additional cost, with up to three licenses included per subscription. For Subscription Billing, the External Accountant has the same permission and functionality as they would have in Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central.
