SBS ARCB Billing Milestone List and Template

Use this page to define templates for the milestone billing functionality. You can define the allocation percentages or amounts for each line within the milestone template.

You can then assign the milestone template to billing schedule items that use the milestone billing functionality.

Add Milestone Template

To add a milestone template, follow these steps: 

  1. From the milestone template list , select New, which opens the SBS ARCB Milestone Template Maintenance dialog.
  2. Specify a unique Milestone No. and a Milestone Description.
  3. Select the Allocation Method.
  4. For each line, do the following: 
    1. Select the Type and No.
    2. Select the Frequency and specify the percentage or amount and Completion Days.
    3. Repeat these steps to add more lines.
  5. Close the dialog.

Delete Milestone Template

To delete a milestone template, follow these steps: 

  1. Select one or more lines that you want to delete, and select Delete.
  2. When you are asked to confirm the action, select Yes.

List Fields

This page contains the following fields: 

Field Description
Milestone No. Displays the identifier for the milestone template.
Description Displays the description for the milestone template.
Allocation Method Displays the allocation method: Percentage, Variable Amount, or Equal Amount.
Total Percent Displays the total allocation percent for the line.

XML Files

Select to import or export milestone templates using the XML file format.

Milestone Template Maintenance Fields

This page contains the following fields: 

Field Description
Milestone No.

Specify a unique identifier for the milestone template.

Milestone Description

Specify a description for the milestone template.

Allocation Method

Select the allocation method: 

  • Percentage of Completion: A cumulative completion value for each line.
  • By Percentage: A percentage amount can be specified for the allocation. The sum of all percentages must equal 100.
  • Variable Amount: An amount can be specified for the allocation. The allocation amount is specified at the transaction level.
  • Equal Amount: The allocation percentages are automatically calculated and equally split among the items within the template.
  • By Quantity: The specific allocation quantity for each line is entered at time of the transaction.
Is Progressive

Indicates whether the template uses the progressive milestone billing functionality.

  • On: The template uses the progressive milestone billing functionality. When used, the Frequency value for a line can be changed.
  • Off: The template does not use the progressive milestone billing functionality. Default. When not used, the Frequency value is set to One Time and cannot be changed.
Lines
Type Select the milestone type: Item, Charge (Item), or Resource.
No.

Select the item or resource number.

Name

Displays the description for the item or resource.

Allocation Method

Displays the allocation method you selected. You cannot change this value within the line grid. The allocation method is set in the box above the lines grid.

Frequency

Select the default frequency: Daily, Weekly, Monthly, Quarterly, Semi-Annual, Annual, or One Time.

When Is Progressive is turned off, this value is set to One Time and cannot be changed.

Percentage

Displays the allocation percentage for the milestone:

  • When Allocation Method is Percentage, you can specify the percentage.
  • When Allocation Method is Equal Amounts, the percentage is automatically calculated into equal percentages based on the number of items in the template.

The sum of all the percentages must equal 100%.

Completion Days Specify the number of days to complete the line within the milestone template.
Total Percent

Displays the sum total of the percentage. The sum of all percentages must equal 100.
