Progressive Milestone Billing Workflow

Setup

To use the progressive milestone billing feature for milestone items, ensure that the following option when setting up milestone templates.

• On the SBS ARCB Billing Schedule Setup, complete the invoice creation options for the Progressive Milestone feature.
  • With the Skip Credit Memo option, you can choose to skip creating the credit memo for negative invoice amounts.
  • With the Auto Terminate option, you can choose to have billing lines that are 100% complete to automatically terminate.
• On the SBS ARCB Billing Milestone List and Template, ensure at least one milestone template has the Is Progressive option turned on.

While this option can be turned on at the time the template is applied to an item, it is a best practice to have at least one template with the option turned on.

General Workflow

When adding an item that uses the progressive milestone billing feature, follow the same process for milestone items with the following changes: 

1. Creating a billing schedule with a milestone item: 
   1. Apply a milestone template that uses the progressive milestone billing feature to the billing schedule.
   2. Add item to the billing schedule and set the Billing Type to Milestone.
      Note: The Milestone billing type cannot be applied to a resource.
   3. Review the milestone details for the line and make any necessary changes.
2. Update the percentage of completion for the billing schedule lines that use the progressive milestone billing functionality:
   1. For a single billing schedule on the SBS ARCB Billing Detail List page.
   2. For multiple billing schedules on the SBS ARCB Batch Progressive Billingpage.
3. Create invoices.

When working with the progressive milestone billing feature, use the following reports to review the progress or any changes.
