Tier Pricing Workflow
To set up tier pricing for an item, you must use the Set Special Prices action from the Item Card. For more information, see Record Special Sales Prices and Discounts in the Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central documentation.
Follow this general workflow to set up tier pricing for an item:
- From the Items list, select the item for which you want to set up the tier pricing.
- On the Item Card page, select Prices & Discounts > Sales Prices.
- On the Price List Lines, select Sales Price Lists.
- On the Sales Price Lists page, select New to add a line to the list.
- For each line, specify the following:
- Assign-to type
- Starting date
- Product number and if needed variant code
- Minimum quantity and unit price
- Flat tier price
- Repeat the previous step to add more lines for the tier pricing.
- When you are finished, verify the lines.
Apply Tier Pricing
To apply tier pricing to a billing schedule line item, follow these steps:
- Open the SBS ARCB Billing Schedule List, and select New to create a billing schedule.
- In the SBS ARCB Billing Schedule Card, ensure that you select the Sell-to Customer, specify a Start date, and select the Number of periods for the billing schedule. And as needed, complete other options.
- When adding a schedule line item to the Schedule Lines, ensure that you select the Item No., set the Pricing Method to Tier, and specify a Quantity. As needed, complete other options.
- For the schedule line item, select Functions > Display Billing Details, which opens the SBS ARCB Billing Detail List page.
- Review the details for the line and when you are finished, close the SBS ARCB Billing Detail List page.
The tier pricing details appears on the right side in the Tier Pricing Information FactBox.
For usage items that use tier pricing, the quantity that appears on the Schedule Lines always appears as zero (0). The Tier Pricing Information FactBox provides pricing information for the selected line only. In other words, only the tier price level for the line appears, no other tier prices levels are available.
Tip: From the SBS ARCB Billing Schedule Card, you can review the tier pricing information for a line on the SBS ARCB Tier Pricing by selecting a billing schedule line in the Schedule Lines FastTab, and selecting the Price Options > Tier Pricing action.
