Apply a Credit Memo (Advanced Revenue & Expense Deferrals)

To apply a credit memo to a deferral schedule, follow this general workflow:

  1. Follow the instructions in the Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central documentation to create the originating sales order.
  2. To add a deferral item, you can set the item you add as a deferral item. Review the process for SBS ARED Transaction (Sales) page for creating a deferral schedule for a sales invoice.

  3. To create the credit memo, you can use the Sales Credit Memo page or the Posted Sales Invoice page.
  4. From the Posted Sales Invoice , select the item, and then select the Actions tab and select Correct > Create Corrective Credit Memo. The Sales Credit Memo page appears with the selected item as a credit memo. For full steps review the process for the Posted Sales Invoice page.

    From the Sales Credit Memo, select Prepare > Get Posted Document Lines to Reverse. On the Posted Sales Document Lines, select the line for which you want to create a credit memo, and select OK. For full steps review the process for the Sales Credit Memo page.

  5. In the Sales Credit Memo page, select Advanced Deferral for the line to review the deferral schedule if needed.
