Viewing and Creating Records

MEM security determines how you view and access records on the following card pages:

  • Bank Account
  • Customer
  • Fixed Asset
  • Item
  • Job
  • Location
  • Payment Method
  • Resources
  • Service Item
  • Vendor

View a Record

To view the details of a record, do the following:

  1. From a list page, select a record.
  2. The list page shows only the records that are attached to entities to which you have access.

  3. In the corresponding card page, you can view the details of the record.
  4. When you use the browse buttons to view the next or previous records, only the records that are attached to entities to which you have access are available.

Create a Record

For all records, you can assign the entity security on the MEM Master Security page.

However, for the following records, you can assign an owner entity from the corresponding Card page. Follow the in the Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central documentation to create a bank account, location, or fixed asset record, you can assign an owner entity to the new record as follows: 

  • Bank account: Any entity can be assigned to new records, includes entities where you do not have access. The Entity Code box available on the Bank Account page shows all entities.
  • Location: Any entity can be assigned to new records, includes entities where you do not have access. The Entity Code box available on the Location page shows all entities.
  • Fixed asset: Only entities to which you have access can be assigned to the new record. The Entity Code box available on the Fixed Asset page shows only the entities that you can access.
