Fixed Asset: Copy and Acquisition

Entities can be attached to existing fixed asset records on the MEM Master Securitypage, or attached at the time a new record is created on the Fixed Asset Cardpage.

Copy a Record

When copying a record on the Copy Fixed Asset dialog, you can copy the same master security information to the newly copied record. The master security for the record is set up on the MEM Master Securitypage. This option helps save you time so that you do not have to apply the additional security as a separate step.

To copy a record, follow the steps within the Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central documentation , and incorporate the following:

  1. From the Fixed Asset List, select a record.
  2. On the Fixed Asset Card, select Actions > Copy Fixed Asset.
  3. On the Copy Fixed Asset dialog:
    1. Under Copy From, select Use the Same Master Security to copy all entities from the current record to the new record.
    2. Under Copy To, select an Entity Code.
