Applying Charges

For a lease you can add a regular charge or a meter (or consumption) charge. The general workflow for regular and consumption charges is different. To add a CAM or sales based charge, follow the same steps as adding a regular or consumption charge.

Regular Charge

To be able to apply a regular charge to a lease, ensure the following setup is already completed with the rest of the general setup

After the charges setup is completed, you can attach the charges to the revenue or expense lease:

  1. On the PLM Lease page, create the lease.
  2. On the Lease Charges FastTab or PLM Lease Charges page, add charges to the lease.
  3. On the Charge Details page, specify the details for the charge and create the billing lines:
    1. Add a Price Adjustment Charge
    2. Add an Abatement Discount to a Charge
  4. On the PLM Invoice Creator, create the invoices for the lease.

Meter (or Consumption) Charge

To be able to apply a meter (or consumption) charge to a lease, ensure the following setup is already completed:

  1. On the PLM Meters Setup page, set up the meters that you want to available for use.
  2. On the Item Card page, add one or more service items.
  3. On the PLM Charges window, add the Consumption charges that you need.

After the charges and all setup is completed, you can attach the charges to the revenue or expense lease:

  1. On the PLM Lease page, create the lease.
  2. On the Lease Charges FastTab or PLM Lease Charges page, add charges to the lease.
  3. On the Charge Details page, specify the meter reading or consumption details and create the billing lines. Based on the setting of the Accumulate on Import option on the PLM Meters Setup page, editing the meter reading or consumption values differs.
    1. When Accumulate on Import is turned off, reading or consumption values are entered directly in the Billing Details Lines FastTab for the lines either by importing data or manually entering the data for each line.
    2. When Accumulate on Import is turned on, reading or consumption values are entered directly on the Consumption Details dialog page either by importing data or manually entering the data for each billing period. This dialog page can be accessed by selecting the Consumption Details action.
Furthermore, when Reading Type is Reading, specify the current reading. When Reading Type is Consumption, specify the quantity to invoice.
  4. On the PLM Invoice Creator, create the invoices for the lease.
